Rebellion PAC Releases New Ad Standing Up for Transgender Rights

Hey everyone, 

Brianna Wu here, Executive Director of Rebellion PAC. I want to tell you a story about why transgender rights are important to us. 

Her last words to me were, “I cannot accept a life without dignity.” 

My friend Evelyn was everything a parent hopes for in a daughter - smart, driven, insightful...  She was going to do great things with her life. Unfortunately, Evelyn isn’t alive today. After years of coping with depression brought on by near constant denigration of her transgender identity, Evelyn died by suicide at just 17 years old. Her death still haunts me, and to this day I ask what else I could have done.

After Evelyn’s funeral, I made a promise I would do whatever I could to stand up for transgender people. 

Rebellion PAC may be the only large Super PAC that actually grills its candidates about issues affecting the trans community. Before we give a dime, we talk to candidates and get a hard commitment to transgender civil rights. 

Today, we released an ad that highlights the incalculable damage Trump has done to transgender Americans. 

Trump has been a disaster in a lot of ways, but he has relentlessly hounded, persecuted, and scapegoated trans people throughout his presidency.

Too many people have relegated Trans Rights to the realm of “identity politics,” but the fact is that Trump’s policies are stripping innocent Americans of their careers, their families, and their lives… for no reason other than they are trans. Today, we dropped an ad that calls him out for it. 

Biden wasn’t our first choice, but it’s beyond obvious in this election which candidate will protect our most vulnerable communities. Trans people cannot survive another four years under this administration. We hope you will stand with our most vulnerable Americans.
